Workshop The Practice of Civic Driven Change, June 22, 2009
Some 150 people participated in the workshop 'The Practice of Civic Driven Change' which was co-organised by Context, international cooperation and the ISS and held on June 22, 2009 at the ISS. Most of the participants were practitioners from a large variety of Dutch development organisations.
After a plenary session, the participants were divided into subgroups. In total, 25 cases with diverse examples of CDC in practice were presented in these thematic workshops. Examples of themes discussed were: civic action and markets; promoting responsible citizenship; CDC in fragile states and children and civic action. At the end of the day, some of the major outcomes were discussed with the entire group. The words 'inspiring' and 'useful exchange' were frequently heard during the drinks afterwards.
